TEAM for Action

The Services SETA has established a NEW Entrepreneurship and Cooperative Development Division. The Services SETA seeks to attract high calibre talent to join the team that will drive the design and delivery of the Programme of Action. The Services SETA advertised 3/8 vacancies on 14 January 2018 with a closing date of 27 January 2018 and the remaining 5/8 vacancies on 21 January 2018 with a closing date of 03 February 2018. In April 2018 additional vacancies will be advertised.

Liesel celebrated 5 years at the Services SETA on 06 March 2018. She headed up the Planning Division for 2 years which is responsible for sector skills planning, strategic and annual performance planning, monitoring and reporting, and evaluation. She served as Acting CEO for two years and was seconded for 1 year to conceptualise the ECDI Programme of Action. She is passionate about REAL solutions for REAL impact on the lives of REAL people. Liesel believes that anything is possible and believes in collective power and wisdom. Liesel has labour, civil society, public sector and private sector experience including a Corporate and micro enterprise. She has experience as a social and micro entrepreneur.

Ntsikelelo holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Public Development Management from Wits University and undergraduate qualifications in Psychology, Correctional Services and Labour Relations. Ntsikelelo has 19 years professional work experience, the majority of which has been in a leadership capacity. He spent 8 years at the Department of Correctional Services, 13 years in the trade union movement and 6 years in entrepreneurship and business development services. The latter was as Chief Operations Officer for the Chris Hani Development Agency and Group Chief Operations Officer for the LondMarx Group. His experience cuts across policy formulation and development, strategy formulation and management, employee relations management, capacity building, training development facilitation, raising capital and resource mobilisation, project management, corporate governance and local economic development

Mabhoko spent most of his career at the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Education. As Deputy Chief Education Specialist he worked with a range of public, private and civil society stakeholders developing and implementing literacy, Adult Education and Training (AET) and entrepreneurship programmes in communities. Thereafter, Mabhoko spent 6 years as a private Skills Development Provider and Business Advisor to young entrepreneurs and cooperatives. Mabhoko was accredited by TETA for professional driving programmes and the South African Council of Educators (SACE) for Continuing Professional Teacher Development (CPTD). He hold a BA Degree in Sociology from UNIZULU and a Diploma in Adult Education from UNISA. He also completed several courses in marketing, global business environment, human resource management and employee relations, and project management. Khanyisa obtained a National Diploma in Public Management in 2012. For 2 years she volunteered at the Holy Cross Hospital in the Eastern Cape working in the Human Resources and Finance Units. Thereafter, she conducted training in home-based care for Wild Flower Project in KwaZulu-Natal on a needs basis. Khanyisa joined the Services SETA in January 2017 as an intern in the Learning Intervention Programmes and Coordination (LIPC) Unit responsible for verification of learner documents, project coordination and stakeholder liaison. She was appointed to the Entrepreneurship and Cooperative Development Division in April 2018. Khanyisa believes that hard work, dedication and a positive attitude builds character and competence. She is proud to be part of a team and initiative that will contribute towards sustainable economic growth through skills and entrepreneurship development.

Sandiso obtained a BA Degree in Communication from Helderberg College in the Western Cape in 2016. During his studies, he volunteered as assistant to the Dean and completed an internship in production with SIDmedia. He joined the Services SETA in March 2017 as the Planning Departmental Administrator which division is responsible for sector skills planning, strategic and annual performance planning, monitoring and reporting, and evaluation. During this time, he also provided extensive support in the conceptualisation of the ECDI Programme of Action. He was promoted to Officer: Business Development Services within the ECD Division in May 2018. He is passionate about working with people, helping those in need and always goes the extra mile. Sandiso believes in being a DOER and not just a DREAMER. In 2017, he completed a Certificate in Project Management at Wits University and in 2018 registered for a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management with Mancosa.

Xabisa obtained her degree in Bachelor of Sciences in Economics and Geography from Rhodes University in March 2016. In the same year, after completing an internship at Awethu Project – a SMME incubator – she was promoted to junior business advisor supporting a cohort of 20 micro entrepreneurs, predominantly in retail services and start-ups. She left Awethu in 2017 and started her own tutoring agency for learners in grades 4 to 12 which she continues to operate afterhours. Xabisa believes that sustainable business development is THE mechanism to create an equitable society and foster economic growth. She joined the Services SETA in May 2018.
